Ososo Carnival is a cultural event held annually to showcase the cultural heritage, traditions and tourism potential of Ososo, an idyllic community, in Akoko Edo local government area of Edo State.
It is a festival of cultural displays with a Carribean mix aimed at showcasing the culture and lifestyle of Ososo people.
The idea of the carnival was birthed in 2011 when the Season 8 of the popular Gulder Ultimate Search sponsored by Nigerian Breweries held in Ososo.
Highlights of the Ososo Carnival spanning over five days from December 26 - 30 every year includes opening of the Carnival Village, Bonfire Night, Beauty Pagent and Carnival Lecture, Mountain Climbing, Carnival Procession and Musical Concert.
Ososo Carnival has been partly sponsored by Goldberg lager beer from the stable of Nigerian Breweries Plc and MTN, the telecoms network that is available wherever you go.
